The specialized services of the Regional Inspectorate of Protection and Control of Public Health and the State Veterinary and Sanitary Control exert permanent supervision of the quality and safety of products that are traded at the market.

As a part of the main market there is a modern wholesale market for meat, poultry and fish opened in the end of 2002, which is an integral part of the wholesale market Slatina-Bulgarplod Ltd. The project is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The new halls have total storage area of 6 604 sq. m. (including 3 500 sq. m. refrigerators) and internal roads. The infrastructure of the specialized market is more than 12 000 sq. m. It matches all veterinary and hygiene norms for performing this kind of trade, as well as the EU requirements and standards. The average storage area is 136 sq. m. Each store house has at its disposal 3 universal refrigerators, whose area is 67 sq. m. and volume of 190 cubic metres. Apart from that office, cashier's and sanitary rooms have been provided.
